New York in 26.2 Miles!

OK, here we go again...... New York it is, well thats the plan. 7 Nov 2010 I will be running the ING New York Matathon for Grassroot Soccer & Glad's House. Both charities working with young children in Africa, Glad's House with the "Street Children of Mombasa Kenya www.gladshouse.com and Grassroot Soccer educate young people about HIV & AIDS www.grassrootsoccer.org

Run2Donate was set up when I was told I couldn't donate a kidney to my daughter Lucy, We were days from the transplant when we were told she had developed Anti-bodies that would cause her to reject the transplant. Unable to proceed, I decided I wanted to do something to help and decided to run The Flora London Marathon in aid of Kidney Research UK. In the hope their research will help others who may suffer from the same sort of challenges in the future......

Lucys Story
At the age of 14 I was diagnosed with end stage renal failure, which meant a life of tablets, injections and peritoneal dialyisis four times a day. Up until this point I had led a completely normal life and so it came as a great shock to both me, and the rest of my family when we were told the news.
